Inside The At Home Steam Shower
Let’s get right to it. This method will allow you to take a steam shower anytime you want without additional costs!
Of course, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t tell you some of the benefits!
Not only is it just super relaxing its a mood booster, steaming reduces stress by helping the body release endorphins (feel good hormones) and reduce cortisol (stress response hormones). The cardiovascular system benefits from this technique by improving circulation which helps the blood transport oxygen around the body a bit easier. Steaming can also reduce blood pressure and repair broken skin tissue caused by wounds.
A Germany study discovered human sweat contains a natural germ-killing protein called dermcidin, which can protect again strains of germs that cause diseases like MRSA and tuberculosis. And you will most definitely sweat; opening pores and releasing toxic compounds trapped beneath the skin (dirt, makeup, pollutants). A 2012 study found that sweating plays an important role in expelling heavy metals like mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic from the body because they dissolve readily in water. Can we say three for one. Winning!
Slept on a bed of rocks?…ok maybe not rocks, but we have all experienced the stiffness that comes with “sleeping the wrong way” and steaming will help loosen up those stiff joints. Feeling the aftermath of that Crossfit workout or that speed walking session? Steaming after a workout will help to sooth those nerve endings and relax your muscles. Not to mention opening up those sinuses when dealing with a cold or stuffy nose all while adding hydration to the hair and skin. Basically a steam shower is like a one-stop shop!
Always remember to keep the body well hydrated for at least 3 days before you take a steam shower. Slather a generous amount of Body Butter on to lock in that moisture and drink a few cups of water after you finish. It can become very hot in your shower, please use caution and common sense. If too much steam is in the shower, open the shower door or curtain to release it. Steaming is something to be done occasionally, not daily. Let your tarp dry or wipe down with a towel, fold and store for later. When in doubt, always check with your medical provider before you engage in steaming.

Consider this quick cheat sheet the next time you slather one on. What are Serums? The short answer is that they are efficient blends of potent active ingredients that are made to deliver wonderful goodies deep into the skin for quick results. By goodies, I mean vitamins & antioxidants that smooth fine lines, increase firmness, speed cell turnover, boosting brightness, and correcting discoloration. Yes, they are pricer but let’s not forget about that “blend of potent active ingredients” that I mentioned?... a few drops of serum goes a long way. Less is more most of the time meaning that your pricy serum will last you for a while. In other words, don’t pile it on!
Serums should be applied to your skin in the following order: cleanser, toner, water-based serum, moisturizer, oil-based serum, sunscreen. Here’s why! Water-based serums nourish the inner layer of the skin and should always go under any creams when layering. Our Night Serum Antioxidant Q10 and Daisy Blossom Brighten serums are light & thin which is good for oil-prone skin and can work with a combination of products when layering. Oil-based serums such as Rosehip Restore go on top of water-based moisturizers to help keep the skin moist. Oils form a protective seal to lock in moisture. This lightweight oil will help those with dry and maturing skin. Oil can dilute sunscreens so make sure you’re applying before sunscreen.
Let me guide you through some tips to apply your serums correctly.
First, just know that serums will stick to dirt and dead skin, so for maximum absorption be sure to cleanse your face well before applying. That means you might need to exfoliate with our White Willow Coconut Sugar Scrub. Apply your serums to damp skin. This creates an environment that’s better for penetration into the skin. If you’ve let the skin dry before you made it to the serum...well will need to re-dampen it. Next, if you are applying multiple serums, think of it like layering your clothes in the Winter. You wouldn’t put a sweater under a tank top, right? Great so keep that same energy when layering your oil hydration serum then you antioxidant and vitamin-packed serum. Once applied, skip the massage. We tend to want to massage everything into our skin. Pat or press on your serum then let it absorb on its own. You can mix and match here and if you have two serums that have the same consistency, layer the one with ingredients that you want to penetrate the most, first.
Next, wait for about 5 minutes before applying moisturizer or acne treatment. I know, 5 minutes?! Yes, 5 minutes! Applying moisturizer too early can affect the lessen the penetration of your serum into the skin. But guess what? You can massage your moisturizer right on in. While your serum contains moisturizing ingredients to help the skin retain moisture, using an actual moisturizer will seal that serum in and create, what I like to call, a heal and hydrate barrier.
Ok so what about if you want to spot treat vs. apply to your whole face? You can use your serums to spot treat for specific conditions like treating those dry spots besides your nose vs. giving your entire face a healthy dose of antioxidants.
Always protect your glow. There is nothing like following your skincare regimen then throwing all of that hard out the window by stepping into the Sun without sunscreen.

Maybe you aren’t prone to dark spots or hyperpigmentation but you are prone to acne scars from pimples. A pimple can get a scab just the same as any other wound on the body. But they are so noticeable and can be embarrassing- especially on a first date or job interview! But, let’s be clear, scabs are the body’s way of protecting and repairing broken skin cells. Scabs reduce infections into the wound and allow the skin underneath to heal. But nothing is perfect and sometime this process doesn’t work as it should.
Below are some ways that you can help speed up the process, Yippy!!
Do your best, not to pick the scab! Something that most of us are probably guilty of. However, bacteria can get into the wound once picked, which can make the situation even worse. So just try not to touch the area.

I started making skincare products out of necessity and I like using high-quality organic ingredients even if it takes more time and effort. Switching to a natural skincare routine gave me a peace of mind while clearing up all of my skin issues that ranged from moderate eczema, severely dry skin, hormonal & cystic acne, acne scars, and dark spots. The skin that I was once hesitant to show off without makeup is now living carefree under the gentle and effective protection of my natural skincare products. And if that isn't enough, not only am I helping my family and others, I'm doing a small deed to help save the environment by not contributing to the chemicals (found in skincare products) that end up in the waterways.
People ask me all the time "is organic better"? Our clean and organic products are better for your body, the environment and they work! I know you might be thinking that "organic products are too expensive for me" and while our products are not dirt cheap as drug store brands, the ingredients are of a higher quality. The marketing campaigns of many mass-produced products will sell you on instant gratification. But what they won't tell you is how those products cut oxygen to the skin, cause premature aging, irritation, allergic reactions, eczema, and increase the risk of "sun/age" spots. Just read (if you can) the ingredients on the back of your drug store products. Come on, you exercise and eat well then slather yourself with chemicals...make good choices for your body inside & out. Stop waiting and order some freshly made organic products that your skin will thank you for later.
So think out of the box and try something new....you don't have to stick to that drug-store brand that your mom has been using since you were a kid, especially if you are still having skincare issues! Plus just think of the aromatherapy benefits because our products are only lightly scented with essential oils, not irritating perfumes.
As I grow this brand, I plan to invest in more environmentally friendly packaging and completely removing beeswax from our ingredient list! And as always I encourage you all to recycle, reuse, repurpose or refill your containers!

Quite a few people have reached out inquiring about products to help reduce under eye circles and bags. So here's the deal...The skin on and directly around the eye area is thinner than the rest of the skin on your body. Under eye circles tend to fluctuate with changes of seasons, changes in lifestyle, and changes in age. While you may be tempted to cover those bad boys with a heavy layer of concealer, try listening to what you skin is telling you to find some lasting solutions. As collagen decreases, veins show through more prominently, increasing the advent of dark circles.
Thin skin also fills more easily with fluid, which can lead to puffiness around the eyes. Under eye darkness is usually caused by blood pooling beneath the thin skin under the eyes. Pooling occurs when the blood vessels around your eyes constrict due to inflammation. Darkness is most noticeable in the morning because you’ve spent the last 8 hours laying down, without the help of gravity to get that blood moving.
In some cases, and most often in those with dark skin, under eye darkness might appear brown or reddish. This is generally not caused by blood pooling, but rather by hyperpigmentation around the eyes.
Test: To determine the cause of your dark circles, gently stretch the skin under your eyes. If the area becomes darker, then the circles are probably due to thin skin and diminished collagen. If the color doesn’t change, UV rays causing hyperpigmentation are probably the problem. Blood that accumulates under the eyes, often due to poor circulation or lack of sleep, can be more obvious in fair or thin-skinned people, especially as fragile capillaries stretch and leak.
Be mindful that other reasons that cause dark circles under the eyes can be allergies, anemia (iron deficiency), smoking, thyroid conditions, dermatitis (skin irritation from products/makeup...etc.), eye drop treatments for glaucoma (bimatoprost), and a reduction of fatty tissue around the eyes.
THEN!...Make Lifestyle Changes
Add another pillow: If you notice intense darkness when you wake up, try propping your head up with an additional pillow while you sleep to discourage blood from pooling. You should also try to sleep on your back to minimize trauma to your skin. Propping up on a few pillows will also help when you have a runny nose! Just thought I would throw that quick tip in there! Hydrate: dark circles intensify when the body is dehydrated, drink plenty of water to minimize inflammation. Eat: Get sufficient sleep; eat fruits with vitamin C, vegetables and herbs high in vitamin K like basil, spinach and collard greens.
Here are some ways that you can clear up those under eye circles at home.
Raw Potatoes – Raw potatoes contain antioxidants and possess natural bleaching properties. It has nutrients which benefit the skin and also nurtures the ultra-thin skin around the eyes. It also reduces the inflammation and swelling of blood vessels. Grate a potato or cut an extra thin slice. Place the slice on eyes for 10-15 minutes. Rinse your face with cold water. Repeat the process every day to get rid of dark circles.
Cucumber – Do you remember watching old movies, where the women would put cucumbers over their eyes and lay back in complete relaxation. Ha! Neither do I. Anyhow, cucumber is indeed refreshing as well as soothing. It is completely capable of fixing those raccoon eyes. Cut thick cucumber slices and keep them on both the eyes for half an hour. You can also grate the cucumber and apply at the bottom of the eyes for better results. Cucumber is high in water and vitamin C content and helps to sooth, moisturize & nourish the skin while reducing swelling.
Rosewater – Rosewater is known for rejuvenating the skin but do you know it is instrumental in reducing dark circles. Not only this it has a soothing effect on the eyes. As rose water possesses mild astringent properties it works as a skin toner. Apply rose water on the dark circles with (reusable) cotton pads. Soak a cotton pad in rose water and place them on closed eyelids. Repeat the process for at least three weeks for better results.
Cold tea bags – Green Tea contains tannins which have astringent properties that help reduce the dark circles and puffiness. Dark circles are caused because the blood vessels get dilated. The caffeine in Green Tea has antioxidant properties that stimulate blood circulation, constricts the blood vessels and thus reduces the dark circles. Take two tea bags and dip them in cold water. You can also refrigerate the water for some time. Keep both the tea bags over your eyes for a while (10 to 15 minutes) and then wash your face with cold water.
Massage- Go ahead and gently massage around the eye area to help improve circulation. This will probably feel more pampering if you use your favorite Carrot & Shea Skin & Eye Cream or Night Serum which contains antioxidants.
Some people have dark circles naturally. The best solution to genetic under eye circles: Kojic acid can help make hereditary dark under-eye circles less noticeable by blocking the production of melanin (the substance that gives the skin its color). Or embrace it because you're beautiful either way!

Eczema, the dreaded skin condition that no one wants. While, thought to be caused by many different things, it's linked to an overactive response by the body's immune system to an irritant. It can show up as a red or rash in lighter complexions. If you have darker more melaniated complexion, eczema tends to look dark brown, purple or grey in color. Sometimes doctors can fail to diagnosis eczema due to the absence of the characteristic redness that they are used to seeing. Even when the eczema flare up has healed, the skin may look darker or lighter than the surrounding normal skin.
So let’s get right too it, because who really needs a lecture, you need a solution! I battled with eczema and related dark spots & scarring through out my childhood so I’m pretty much a self-proclaimed expert. I’m bias here, I have been told on several occasions that I apply way more moisturizer than the average person. However, I receive many compliments on how smooth, soft AND FREE OF ECZEMA my skin is…so extra moisturizer is key!! Follow this eczema treatment home remedy below and you will be eczema free in no time.
Follow these steps and you will be on your way to being steroid, Rx cream & oral medication free in no time.
Some other tips that work well to prevent eczema flare ups is keeping the skin moisturized and staying hydrated (drink water). Dont be afraid to use the Body Butter generously. The thing about Eczema is that its essentially dry skin that has become inflamed. This skin condition can flare up with diet, so if you have a food intolerance or allergies, your eczema can get worse if you continue to eat things that your body doesn’t like. However, I have successfully cleared up eczema in adults, children and babies with the steps above no matter their diet.

The very best benefit to handmade soaps are the ingredients. Many of my customers have told me that our soaps have not only improved their skin, but changed their lives by relieving them of itchiness, dryness and skin conditions such as eczema. Handmade soaps not only clean and moisturize, their natural oils and butters heal the skin, as well as providing antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients. Most commercial store-bought soap isn’t soap at all. It’s a detergent made out of chemical hardeners, artificial scents, and chemical foaming agents.
Our made handmade soaps are scented with pure organic essential oils, never fragrance oils as that would immediately defeat the purpose of being completely natural. When you use our soaps scented with only essential oils, you not only benefit from the lack of harmful chemicals, but you actually benefit from the therapeutic properties each essential oil offers. Not to mention the smell is amazing!
Dish Soap is not excluded!
Let’s think about dish soap for a second. Dish soaps are formulated to remove oil, stuck on grim and grease from dishes to leave them sparkling clean. Dish soap will also remove the oils from your skin which is why some people choose to wash dishes with gloves on; to protect their skin from becoming, dry, cracked and painful.
Tip: Do a “lazy manicure”. Roll our Grapefruit & Geranium Cuticle Oil across your hands and cuticle areas. Put your dish gloves on and wash dishes. Once finished, remove the gloves, push your cuticles back and boom! Instantly great looking nails…I mean you probably should follow up with buffing the nail out, maybe some polish… but you get why this is called the lazy manicure.
Here is Another Way to Use Our Soaps
Just remember the next time you consider mass produced commercial soaps- it may be labeled “natural” and come with all kinds of persuasive advertising claiming all sorts of wonderful benefits, but read the ingredients label for more info.

Often times I’m asked, what is the difference between your Daisy Blossoom Brighten Serum and Skin Renewal Bilberry AHA Cream? Here’s a quick run down.
Our Brighten Serum increases the radiance and glow of the skin. This blend works over a longer period of time. It delivers deep into the skin tissues working to block new dark spots and increase cell turnover so that the darker-stained uppermost layers of the skin can exfoliate away, revealing brighter, healthier, youthful & even skin tone. The serum is lighter & thin which is good for oil-prone skin and can work with a combination of products (layering) because it’s not heavy. Those looking to brighten their overall dull complexion will find that our serum will do the trick. Brightening is about bringing vibrancy to the skin, not bleaching or lightening/whiting your complexion.
The video is showing REAL customer results within 2 weeks of using the Skin Renewal Bilberry AHA Cream is an exfoliatant and works very quickly such that results can be noticed after a few uses. Don’t worry, the AHA is plantbased fruit enzyme! It goes to work beneath the surface to increase collagen and elastin synthesis. The results are improvements in the overall texture, firmness, and elasticity of skin while also increasing the speed at which the top layer of skin cells is pushed off to reveal the fresh new cells below. Pushing off those top layers, will decrease the dark spot(s).
Another perk is that wonderful blend can be used as a dark spot corrector on the skin and face; except the hands, underarms and bikini areas. The Skin Renewal Bilberry AHA Cream is definitely for nighttime use because it’s not meant to layer under makeup and can really be used alone or under our Carrot & Shea Skin & Eye Cream or Whipped Body Butter. Customers have often mentioned using this product on their legs, arms, chest and back to lighten dark areas resulting from burns, eczema and other skin conditions.
By including one of our fruit emzyme-based exfoliants as apart of your skincare routine, you’ll notice that products penetrate and go to work faster than if you were to apply on top of dead skin cells that need removal. Just think about applying makeup day over day without washing your face. Gross, right? Products are more effective when they can penetrate the skin and sometimes you need to give the skin that extra push by exfoliating. This process keeps skin clean and smooth, helps prevent pore clogging, and reduces acne breakouts.
HOW TO CHOOSE
Overall, both the Brighten Serum and Skin Renewal Cream are excellent choices in treating dark spots & dull completions. My suggestion is that if you are in desperate need of dark spot removal the Skin Renewal Cream will yield noticeable results the quickest (2weeks). Once you have achieved the desired level of dark spot removal, maintain with the Brighten Serum. If your skin is already flawless and you want to apply extra slayage, or you are in no rush, just skip to the serum.
Anyone with uneven tone or brown spots can benefit, but it's essential to use sun protective measures as well. You can undo the damage with our products mentioned above but then you are fighting an uphill battle if you don't protection your skin from whatever is triggering the pigment production in the first place (the sun, acne, etc). That's why it's so essential to wear sunscreen and make sure you're working to treat the cause of the issue. Check out our products for acne & breakouts or dry/maturing skin.
No matter what product you use to achieve a brighter complexion and ease dark spots, pay attention to its list of ingredients. This is a better indicator of what the product is likely to do for your skin. Ingredients like hydroquinone and ammoniated mercury commonly found in lightening products have been shown to harm the skin with prolonged use.
